The May 17 meeting at the VFW is at 6:30 p.m....

The Grand Traverse Area Rock and Mineral Club, Traverse City, Michigan (GTARMC) is open to rockhounds of all ages. Promoting our hobby is our main goal. Here is our mission statement.

Our next meeting of 2023 will be held on May 17 at 6:30 p.m. at the Cherryland VFW Post at 3400 Veterans Drive in Traverse City. This is the same place where we hold our club show in September. See the newsletter for more information. Because the VFW is not available on Tuesdays, we have changed our regular meetings to the third Wednesday of each month, except August and December. Please visit our next meeting. You do not have to be a member of the GTARMC to attend and rockhounds of all ages are welcome, including young rockpups.

Membership in the Grand Traverse Area Rock and Mineral Club offers many benefits including:

  • Monthly newsletter
  • Classes and field trips for members only
  • Use of club workshop after cabochon class is completed
  • Access to Annual Picnic and Christmas Dinner
  • Chances to share your love of the hobby with others

  • In addition, you can join this special support group for those suffering from rockpox. When friends and family look at you funny when you are talking about spending vacations collecting rocks, minerals and fossils, you can find comfort in knowing that you can talk to any of the GTARMC members who know that you are really quite "normal".

Membership dues are $5.00 for Junior members ages 8 through 17 years, $15.00 for an adult, $20.00 for a couple. Children under 8 years of age are free with an adult member.
