field trips/GTARMC show
Some of our rockhounds go on several trips each year to great rock and mineral hunting grounds! Some are as individuals or family groups, some as a group of rockhounds and sometimes with the whole club or with another club. These trips are fun for the whole family and are not only entertaining,
but full of learning and collecting opportunities as well. See the newsletter for upcoming events and sign up at the meetings or by email. Below are some pictures from some of the GTARMC's field trips from recent years.
Field Trips
A big part of being a rockhound is sharing our hobby and crafts with others!
GTARMC members participate in numerous rock and mineral shows every year where they showcase their skills and help spread interest and knowledge about rocks, minerals and the lapidary arts.
GTARMC Rock and Mineral Show
Our biggest event is the club show held the last full weekend of September. In 2024, the show will be held on September 28 and 29 at the Cherryland VFW at 3400 Veterans Drive in Traverse City. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday the 28th and 11 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday the 29th. Vendor booths, displays, and a young rockhound's area were featured. Below are a few pictures from some past club shows.
The GTARMC is an active club, so make sure to check the
calendar
and the
GTARMC newsletter for upcoming club meeting information, educational opportunities, field trips and shows!
